Enough navel gazing: for at least one day. It’s time for grandkid piccies.

Young Geek

Last weekend Nikki Dee came for a sleepover. She quite enjoyed "working" on my computer. For a not-quite-four-year-old, she's extremely adept. It's frightening, actually.

Off to Dance Class

After the sleepover, we took her to her dance class on Saturday morning. I took this picture before we got into the car.

Dancing Queen

Parents etc are not allowed into the dance studio, but Cuppa had managed to sneak in and take these pictures before her first class ever the week before. Cute, eh?

Nikki Dee Smile Collage

For the longest time Nikki Dee would ignore the camera, but for the past number of months she's been fine with it. Suddenly though, she is beginning to make a bit of an odd face as she forces a smile. It's cute really, and it's just another phase.

First Day on the Deck

So, when we were out on the deck on Thursday, I had to instruct her to not look at the camera. Unlike the old days, it was tough for her, but she managed briefly.

First Day on the Deck

Yes. I did say that we were out on the deck. It finally warmed up enough to get out, and Nikki Dee spent most of Thursday out there.

First Day on the Deck

Nikke Dee took this photos of Buppa sitting on the deck, working on crossowrds and sudokus.

Zach Collage

Zach doesn't come for sleepovers yet and spends about two hours sleeping on my 4.5 hour shift, so he doesn't get as much face time with the camera. But he is not to be forgotten. He makes sure of that.

A nice respite from your “navel gazing” … contemplating one’s navel has never conjured up a pretty picture as far as I could see ! The two little ones continue to be photogenically adorable !!

  2. Lorna says:

Not only does she exude post-toddler radiance, she takes a good picture. As does J-boy, especially the enigmatic covered-in-a-towel 0ne.

Was that a Nikki’s glass of wine at the keyboard?????
I think she needs a nice Pink John Deere!!!! 🙂

  4. AC, nice to see grandkid pics again – actually missed them while you were going through the various contemplation stages. Nikki Dee took a good one of Buppa too!

  5. Bernie says:

She is adorable as is he! Can’t believe you can sit out on your deck, mine is still covered with snow but it is getting better, neighbour said it was melting 1 cm a day, looks like I only have another month of snow…..yay!

It is wonderful to see how they are growing.

I had to catch up a bit here, but I had to start with those great photos of your grandchildren! And your granddaughter certainly knows how to take a good shot of her grandfather.

It took me years of menial and not so menial jobs to find out what I liked to do and I found it 12 years ago: driving a bus, especially combined with being a tourguide. I sometimes miss not having gone to college or university (we have the same distinction, although we use a different terminology), but that’s more to do with not having that ‘college’ experience than with the education part of it.

Adorable as always. I know how some kids tend to make a funny smile for the camera. Telling them not to look at the camera is good advice.

  9. It appears that Nikki Dee blogs the same way I do–with a glass of a good red wine at my side!

    As always, great pictures, Juncle.

Isn’t it so sweet to be able to get outside now? Gah. I love it. Ben and I were up at the farm this weekend and we managed to eat lunch outside at the picnic table. GLORIOUS.

Nice to see your face in this set of pictures, too!

    Have a great week.
