For your viewing pleasure on this fine day, I have a few photos from the weekend at Celtfest. Actually, I have more than a few, but I’ll put most of them into a slideshow at the end.
Taken from the opposite hill: the stage is set at the bottom of a natural amphitheatre, so the sightlines are good unless you sit behind a tree on a very sunny afternoon. 🙂
Most of the performances take place in the daylight, but the last group on Saturday night continued on into the dark.
There was stepdancing though perhaps not as much as in some years.
There was plenty of fiddling. This is Wade Foster: a local and very accomplished fiddler whom I have never heard before.
There was folk music, Irish music, French music, Old Time music, and Celtic Rock music from the American band, The Rogues, which has as many Canadians as Americans. Three on this particular night were Canadians, all from Ontario — in fact by coincidence, all three are in this picture. So you see, contrary to popular opinion, Canadians can get a little loose and wild.
Here’s the slideshow although I would rather that you click to the full screen version right on Flickr. It doesn’t take any longer, and it’s so much more betterer. 🙂 You can also get there by pressing play below and then clicking the full screen icon, but I think it’s easier just to click the above link.
