Celtfest One More Time

This is more or less a repeat of the previous post, or at least the first part is. It has all of the same pictures, but this slideshow is animated, or perhaps zoomified is a better word. I have also added some background fiddling by one the groups at Celtfest — the Fitzgeralds, aka Everything Fitz. Actually, the group at Celtfest was not the Fitzgeralds per se but Julie and friends, Julie being the oldest Fitzgerald girl. Her sister, younger brother and one of the famous Leahys (Seamus, I believe) formed the rest of the band.

Since this will be my final post this year about Celtfest, here is a clip of The Rogues playing The Gael in a different locale. They played it at our festival too. It’s a lovely soft piece from what can be a pretty rockish band.

At the other end of the spectrum is Triple Trouble, three sisters between 10 and 14 years. They can step dance too. Already good, they will be awesome if they keep going. Celtfest pays attention to local talent, both “upcoming and going somewhere” and “older and going nowhere”.

Alrighty then. I’m done … unless I come across something unexpectedly.

  1. After reading the post, checking out slideshows and videos, it felt like we had gone to the festival too. And we had good weather too! Enjoyed the festivities from afar. The village of Lanark presented some great photo ops.
